3 lbs mixed red apples, unpeeled
1 lemon
1 cinnamon stick
- Cut apples into 1-inch pieces.
- Remove 3 wide strips of zest from the lemon with a veggie peeler. Add to sauce pan and squeeze in lemon juice.
- Add apples and cinnamon stick to pan, cover and cook over medium heat until soft.
- Continue cooking, mashing and stirring the apples until they thicken, about 10-15 minutes.
- Remove the cinnamon stick and puree in food processor.
